This website http://www.kraken.eu (the "Site") is operated, on behalf of the KRAKEN consortium ("us", "we", or "our") by Atos Spain SAU, with registered office in Albarracin 25, 28037 Madrid, Spain.

This privacy policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information/data we receive from users of the Site. The opinions provisions employed herein do not necessarily reflect the official views of the European Commission, and the European Commission is not responsible for any use that may be made of the information it contains.

What is personal data?

When you visit KRAKEN

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data"), even if you are not a registered user.

We collect some data to help us find out things like how many people visit our site, how they navigate around our site, the pages that are most visited.

When you register a user account for KRAKEN

If you register in our site, we will ask you to provide us with certain personal identifiable information that will be used to manage your account and manage the review process and feedback provision about the status of submitted content that may become part of the website database. This database is archived in the secure local services that are maintained by Atos Spain SAU.

Personal identifiable information may include your name, your professional email and the organization you belong when you register at the time of registration.

When you register to receive KRAKEN newsletter

This newsletter communicates our users about important news regarding the project. When registering for our newsletter, we collect your name, professional email address, IP address you signed up from, and your consent to send the newsletter. 

MailChimp is the company that provides our newsletter mailing system. If you choose to join our email newsletter, the email address that you submit to us will be forwarded to MailChimp, who provide us with email newsletter services. MailChimp is a Georgia limited liability company whose legal name is The Rocket Science Group LLC d/b/a MailChimp. The registered office for The Rocket Science Group, LLC is 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE Suite 5000.Atlanta, GA 30308 USA.

We consider MailChimp to be a third-party data processor. The email address that you submit will not be stored within this website’s own database or in any of our internal computer systems.

Your email address will remain within MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue to use MailChimp’s services for email newsletters or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email newsletters that we send you or by requesting removal via email. While your email address remains within the MailChimp database, you will receive periodic (approximately one per month) newsletter-style emails from us.

Access and transfer to personal data

The following organizations have access to your personal data on our website:

  • Internal Atos web team for maintenance and statistical purposes.
  • KRAKEN Consortium partners for the project purposes.
  • Third-party analytics, marketing and newsletter tools, namely Mailchimp and Google analytics.

Your data is not disclosed or transferred to other third parties. Personal data will not be transferred to government bodies or public authorities except in order to comply with mandatory national legislation or if the transfer of such data should be necessary in order to take legal action in cases of fraudulent access to our network infrastructure. 

Personal data will not be transferred for any other purpose unless you agreed to do so.

Your data is not transferred beyond the borders of the European Union.

Consent to use data in other contexts

The use of certain functionalities on the Site may require prior registration and involves more substantial processing of personal data, such as longer-term storage of e-mail addresses, usernames and passwords. We use such data only insofar as it has been sent to us by you in person and you have given us your express prior consent for this specific use.

You may cancel your registration for this type of service at any time, by sending us an e-mail via alicia.cuadrado@atos.net.

As a general rule, the content of users is not subject to any form of monitoring by any member of the KRAKEN Consortium. Nevertheless, we reserve the right to delete posted contributions and to prohibit users from further use of the service at our own discretion, especially in cases where posted content contravenes the law or is deemed incompatible with the objectives of KRAKEN.

Links to other web sites operated by other providers

Our Web pages may contain links to other providers’ web pages. We would like to point out that this statement of data protection conditions applies exclusively to the web pages managed by us. We have no way of influencing the practices of other providers with respect to data protection, nor do we carry out any checks to ensure that they conform to the relevant legislation.

Data Portability

Users have the right to require the project to give them back a copy of the personal data they previously provided for this web or send this data to another organization. These data will be provided in an Excel file to the email indicated by the user.

Google Analytics

In addition, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service operated by Google LLC. (“Google”) with registered office in 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043 USA.

Google Analytics uses cookies as well. The information generated by the cookie in respect of your usage of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the U.S., where it is stored. If IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address is truncated beforehand by Google within member countries of the European Union or in other countries that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional instances is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the U.S., where it is then truncated. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to evaluate your usage of this website, compile reports on website activity, and render further services to the website operator that relate to website usage and Internet usage. Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. 

As stated in Atos Binding Corporate Rules, any personal data processed by Atos is kept on secure servers. Atos uses reasonable administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures to safeguard personal data against loss, unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or modification and to ensure the integrity of the personal data. Additionally, Atos ensures to process your personal data only for the purposes mentioned in this privacy notice and to keep data no longer than necessary.

This website is subject to the Atos Information Security Policy, aiming at safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, availability, authenticity and non-repudiation of information and information systems. It is based on an internationally accepted security standard (ISO27002 -, Code of Practice for Information Security Management). Atos implements technical and organizational security measures to safeguard stored personal data against inadvertent or deliberate manipulation, loss or destruction and against access by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological progress but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Right to information and contact data

You have a legal right to inspect any stored data concerning your person, and also the right to demand their correction or deletion and to withdraw your consent for their further use.

You may at any time request information about your personal data that we have stored or access and amend it by logging in to our website with your log-in data. Any formal request for information must be made in writing with proof of your identity.

You may also at any time delete or correct your data or user profile. You may do this by sending an e-mail with the relevant request to info@krakenh2020.eu. We draw your attention to the fact that if your data is deleted it will no longer be possible to use some or all of our services.
You may retract your consent to certain kinds of data processing at any time with effect for the future.

We only retain the Personal Data collected from a user for as long as the user's account is active. After an account is closed the data will no longer be used and it will be erased from our systems. Otherwise personal data will be retained for a limited period of time as long as we need it to fulfil the purposes for which we have initially collected it unless otherwise required by law. Please note that by law certain kinds of data must be kept for a certain period of time Such data must be stored by us until these periods run out. We block this data in our system and use it only in order to fulfil statutory requirements. In any case, all personal data will be removed at the end of this date 30/11/2022.

Acceptance, validity and modification of data protection conditions

By using our web site, you implicitly agree to accept the use of your personal data as specified above.
